| Hi, anyone else have a baby allergic to milk/dairy? The HV did his 1 year check laqst week and said she would be shocked if he does not have celiac disease. He has all the classic symptoms. She said the easiest way to start this process is to say its a milk allergy, if things are no better they look more into it but she said she thinks this is what Thomas will have. For now we have put him on soya milk. He is still silk, still has all his symptoms and nothing has changed apart from he now sometimes does a solid poo (in a year he had never done one!) he also used to not poo often, since the soya milk he now poos about 4 times a day. Is anyone in the same boat? x

| Im starting to think Hannah might be allergic to milk as since putting her on only cows milk she never seems to do a solid poop. She also is really struggling at night with trapped wind (she was a really colicky and silent reflux baby) she wakes up screaming and some nights I can hear her tummy rumbling, I was putting this down till teething (poopy bum not sleeping well etc) until last night when I started thinking it could be something in her diet. As she really does struggle at night times when she is lying flat... I dont know though if this is because of teething but she has been like it for a month now is that 'normal'? I think ill mention to my hv when I see her next. Hubby is allergic to cheese (not properly confirmed but we took it out his diet and he noticed changes straight away) so im thinking she could be lactose tolerant (which I think hubby is just got to get tests sorted) x |

| Hi, Thomas has struggled since I stopped breast feeding at 5 months. At 6 months he would not eat solids, he was constantlty sick. They said this is normal for babies that are weaned at 6 months but to keep going. When I stopped BF at 5 months he was on 75th centile line. He has now dropped to 25th. He has a pot belly, he gets a rash when he eats, he has bad skin is violently sick after most food. These are all signs of celiac. We are now just waiting for the tests to diagnose. If its not celiac then it could be that he is allergic to all dairy not just milk. If your OH has problems then it would def be worth while getting LO checked out. How was she when she was on formula because I was told milk allergies will be with the formal formula as well (not just cows milk) Thomas was sick after every single bottle x |

| Hannah has never really liked milk - I have never had her drink more than an 7oz bottle so I suppose it could of been this because of her having some kind of allergy to it? Hannah was born on the 75th and dropped to the 50th (I stopped getting her weighed at 6ish months) as I was fed up with them not helping me with the feeding (her not drinking much milk) and her colic/reflux my hv were useless. Would I be best just taking her straight to a dr for an appointment/tests rather than go through hv?

| Thomas is having to be weighed at least every month now to make sure he does not drop further down. I would have thought not having more than 7oz was ok, Thomas has never had more than 7oz and just thought that was normal. With us it was the HV that got the ball rolling. She was concerned about all his symptoms so said to go to gp. Gp was also concerned so refered him to the hospital and now its in their hands. If you are not happy with HV then go to gp and have a chat x |

| Well if its any reasurance Thomas is my 3rd baby, none of mine ever drank more than 7oz, I have 2 sisters with children, none of theirs drank more than 7oz either so think it might be your friend that was doing something out of the norm! If u look on the tin of formula it onls says 7oz as max, im yet to find a formula that says 12 oz!! That seems an awful lot of milk to me, plus I think bottles only hold 9oz and they are the big ones.
Let me know how u get on with the hv please and if u are not happy go and talk to gp x |
