ava is exactly the same, her hands are freezing but she's toasty every else, I can't get scratch mitts or foldover sleepsuits for her as she'd just pull them off. is there a solution......

I have this with Izzy , however I have come to realise that her hands are only cold if her body isn't really warm enough. As the body works by keeping the core warm and leaves the hands/ears cold if it doesnt have enough warmth.

In the day if her hands are cold I add a bodywarmer and soon her hands are warm again!

What does he wear at night, and what tog bag is he in?

If the room is 18 degrees Izzy wears a big girl vest, PJs, 2.5 tog purflo sleeping bag with arms and a quilt!

its a hard one, I think i'm paranoid about her being over hot because of SIDS, it's just getting it right that's difficult. I've been putting ava in bodysuit, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog grobag.

Yeh its such a worry, and the 'too hot' to me is always worse than 'too cold'!

Maybe try just adding long sleeved vest (if using short now) or adding a cellular blanket on the top just over her body and under her arms?

hmmmmm our room varies between 18 and 20 degrees, usually around 19 (or so the gro-egg says, i become less trusting of it every day). he wears a long sleeve vest, a long sleeve t-shirt/top and a 2.5tog grobag...i am paranoid about overheating him too and that sort of adds up to the instructions from gro-bag.....maybe i should try a sleepsuit rather than top.
im really wary of blankets just now because elijah's favourite thing in the world is to pull them over his face (a recent discovery and hopefully just a phase).

my baby girl has always suffered from cold feet, she refuses to wear anything on her feet ,,, or hand and head while am on about it Sad she will not sleep in a sleep bag at all so she goes in her cot with vest sleepsuit and , she will only sleep with primark fluffy blankets Sad

i think she takes after me ,, if i could wear flips flops or go barefoot all year round i would and no matter what the weather is like , the tip of my nose and my arse cheeks are always cold to touch Sad

haha my arse cheeks are always cold too, i put it down to the distance they are from my body Laughing

it took a couple of weeks to get elijah into a grobag, he really wasn't having any of it so we had to keep going as he was waking 5+ times a night with no blankets on tsk tsk!

Hannah won't go to sleep unless she has something over her face Shocked and both of mine have to sleep with primarni blankies too. I did used to worry about over heating too but both of them like to be very warm and snuggly to sleep. At the minute Hannah's room is around 20 degrees and she wears a vest, sleepsuit, 2.5 tog bag, doubled over cellular blanket up to her shoulders and sleeps cuddling a big fluffy blankie to her face. I do worry about her but she sleeps brilliantly.

I think the sock idea is a good one, they will stay on much better than ordinary mitts and you can get thicker ones for the really cold nights.

xx

this isn't a how cold is your arse competition! haha debs i can't believe hannah wears so much, i don't think elijah has ever been that toasty! if our room is chilly again tonight (storage heating - can't figure it out at all), i will try with a long sleeve suit, sleepsuit and his grobag and see Smile
his body was roasting last night but still icy little paws.

i struggle with this too, benjamins nursery is attatched to our room but the whole nursery is made up of only one wall and all the rest is glass....so it gets mega cold in there really quickly Sad i put a long sleeved vest, sleepsuit, grobag, sheet blanket and fleecy blanket (if its xtra cold) sometimes i put a fleecey style sleepsuit on instead of normal sleepsuit and he also wears scratchmitts but his hands are always freezing!! its just somethin we'll have to work out ladies...and btw! i refuse to touch my arse lol!!!!
