I'm not entirely sure how fb works but I have noticed one of my cousins has dissapeared from my fb. I can't search her so initially I thought she must have deleted her profile. Anyway I checked her sisters wall and comments I saw her put there last week have gone and then I checked some of my photos that I know she commented on and the comments have gone too. However I have another friend who I know deleted her profile but her comments are still visable just her name is blacked and not linked to a profile any more.

So does anybody know what happens when you delete your account? If I deleted mine now would every trace of me be deleted from all of fb land?

I've deleted my account and basically dont exist nothing i have commented on etc will be there at all.

i think perhaps she's deleted her account.

maybe your friend hasn't done it properly, you can deactivate your account, thats different. is she did that theres a chance there may still be stuff there.

Didn't know you could deactivate or delete. She must have deleted it then - which is a good thing as she is one of these people that lived their entire life out on fb - if I have seen her status change from engaged to single and back once - Ive seen it a thousand times . I'm guessing she has finaly got a grip!

What you have described can also be from being blocked!

I am blocked by 3 people (lol we all know who!) and I cant see their comments BUT sometimes its obvious they are commenting from other peoples replies!


Basically if you are blocked its as if the other person doesnt exist

Ahhh so if you can't see sone comments then your blocked? Funny enough say one yesterday, some one said why you talking to yourself... But I could see anothe person was replying. Did think huh.

Also I webt to go onto someones wall the other day to see if she had deleted/she was ok as my new feed I always see her but hadn't seen any posts for a while. But was still friends but her wall was empty? Does that mean I'm blocked? If I am no idea what iv done x

Yeah you can either delete your account or deactivate it for a while if you want x

Yeh Em if you can see their profile then you aren't blocked, but in their privacy settings they have limited what people can see!

I did it with my work colleagues, i didn't want to delete them but also didn't want them knowing what I was talking about with my friends!

Deleting people just wipes them from existence...they cannot read anything from you..not even comments on mutual family/friends posts.

yea sounds like they have blocked you. i have a few people who have blocked me.. its weird as it looks like some people are taking to their selfs x

is it possible to not have a wall at all? can you have that option? I cant see an exes wall but he pms me all the time. if hes chosen to not have me view his wall he can piss off.

Im blocked by a few people too. its weird only seeing one half of a conversation sometimes

Well turns out she didn't block me she just went through deleting a load of stuff and deactivated her account "to see how long she could live without facebook" . Well she lasted all of 2 days and was back on commenting on my profile pic this afternoon - and suprise suprise she is single again (bare in mind she is supposed to be getting married in May - everything is booked) it is about the 10th time in two months she has changed from engaged to single - yep, she's 'one of them'

Ah well you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family eh?
