Flick was in the trolley as usual and we went upstairs to the George department and some random weird old lady gave Flick a bag of quavers
The when we were browsing the food aisles downstairs I felt a prod on my arm and when I turned around some old man gave Flick £1
When I turned to say thankyou again he had gone! Didn't see him again

It's about giving the baby luck. My sister's bfs family gave Imogen £20 and insisted it get put in her hand (she was about 4wks old!) then my friend's mum, who is Filipino did the same thing and my friend explained that to give the baby luck.. the baby had to take the money not parents.

It's funny you mentioned that Shell..when Madisyn was born it was usually the Asian community that would be trying to give her things. As she got older, there was a little corner shop by our home that was owned by a sweet little old Filipino couple who every time I would take Madisyn there, she would come out with a bag full of freebies which they would specifically hand to her. Makes sense now. xxx
