i've noticed thar there isn't any way to delete a post now...at least not an obvious one...

nope! have been looking cos i know that's where the delete function is on most but there isn't!

Nope I removed it - for reasons I can not divulge Only kidding..I took it off for a specific reason, which has now 'gone away', so may well put it back on!

and I say may well cos I can't for the life of me remember where the option is...the forum settings are like a maze that I get lost in!

Surely if you want to remove something you could still just edit and delete it all?

I did that a few times on AB when I couldnt remove a post. (The only reason I deleted was when I got paranoid that people I knew may have read my MIL rants )

well the reason I stopped deleting was that someone wrote something nasty, more than once, then the offended person was offended (obviously) but the bad person deleted the post before i saw it so couldn't say owt cos was like it was never there! At least if it was edited it would be obvious that they had said something!

Anyway it was only one person who did it so I removed the option to stop that happening and said person has now sodded off anyway - but I cant find the option to turn back on...its not where it should be!
