i opened D fund with asda a year ago and to cut a long story short the account was invalid as some eejit printed her documents with wrong date of birth
the childrens mutual/inland rev ended up just opening one for her which i dont mind but this morning i get a letter from childrens mutual/ asda saying
as you know the inland rev has informed us this account is invalid the account has been closed and i attach a cheque for £65.85 ( the account should have been closed back in january )
anyways ,, no cheque attatched and because i honestly dont think i paid that much in as it was only open a month or 2 max i called them
she said if there was no cheque attached then it means they have just put it into your bank acc , and looking at my records the transaction went ahead on the 15th nov ,, by coincidence i phone my bank prior to opening letter to check whats been going in and out and it was not there, i would have questioned that amount straight away as wouldnt be familiar to me ,,, woman said well its right infront of me if you want ill put a trace on it and call you back on friday and the payment can take 4 working days and maybe phone your bank as it might not have a ref number and be in a holding account
i called bank back and went through it all with them and they said there is nothing at all showing or in holding accounts so phone them back and ask for a trace
now a waiting game
anyone else had this , it came quite unexpected and my issues is i honestly cant see why they would give me that much back and it must be some mistake but hey 65 quid would come in handy also lol !
