| Howdy ladies,
I need a box to put all of my wedding things in and the things we got for Elijah (mostly cards for both) - I also need some way to store my wedding dress. It is just a normal dress really and I'm getting it dry-cleaned today. Only been married nearly 2 years haha it takes me a while to get round to these things.
how can I store the dress without it getting kind of foosty or damp? It doesn't really need to be hung up and we are really short on space but I don't think it would survive a vacupack as it has jewels and things on it (hard to describe).
Does anyone have any recommendations as to how I can store piles of cards, I don't really want to throw them out although I know they don't serve much of a purpose!
Does anyone have any practical and pretty ideas? |

| Really useful boxes http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/ - Love 'em - got a room full (literally...) Used this one for wedding things : http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/b64_0litre.php and payed the extra to get it in "white strong" but they do it in solid silver too (among others) which was going to be our second choice. Either way, the solid colours would be better to protect from the light? hth xx |

| Just saw your "pretty" bit.... they're not exactly that I payed a fortune (£40+) for a fancy-ass dress storage box off ebay, acid free, yaddah-yaddah - but it was a funny old fold-out kind that wasn't airtight or anything (due to the fold-out / collapsible feature) and really was a waste of money. Ended up giving it away to a friend in the end! xx |

| hahaha what a strange selection of ideas still stuck though, none of those (kind and helpful) ideas quite hit the mark. The wedding and Elijah's birth stuff are really only cards because Elijah's other things are in a box seperately (first clothes etc). The wedding dress probably does need to be airtight, but I will wear it again if i can squeeze my fat bum in it so it doesn't need to be really long term storage.......hmmmmmmmm |

| There are those vacuum sealed giant bags you can place your dress in. |

| What is your reason for keeping all the stuff?
If you can understand your own motivation that will help you to find the perfect storage.

| well, I want to keep a t.shirt that my colleagues wrote on before my wedding, and some of the congratulations cards because they were so lovely and unexpected. The dress I want to keep because I want to use it again! And because it reminds me of my wedding day of course And I want to keep some of the cards we received for Elijah as well, even though he will probably not be that interested in them, I know that I have thrown things like that away in the past and wished I hadn't later I have a nice cardboard box that is baby blue and has some little bits like hospital tag, so this needs to be more of a storage box that I won't be accessing as often (I put little things in Eli's blue box quite often as he grows) |

| We have this one for baby stuff, and the matching baby book, from Clintons I think it was: http://www.metoyouonline.com/details.aspx?PID=5015&referrer=Froogle Looks quite small on there but is about the size of an office box file? inside has three small drawers at the bottom and an envelope thing inside the front cover too Hmmm, not sure about the dress - do you have spare luggage that it would go inside? Or a nice hat box might do the job too, on top of a wardrobe?: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hat-box-Large-60x30cm-high-hexaganal-blk%2fwht-stripes_W0QQitemZ120450900733QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=129829052424&rvr_id=129829052424&cguid=a9b6a50e12a0a0e202365526fbd4fbcc Look at me, I'm on a right mission xx |
