2 oldest kids!

I just have had enough. They are complete scruffs. I went in their bedrooms and they were complete shitholes (i am not exaggerating). Clothes everywhere, drawers emptied and left, sweet,crisp wrappers everywhere, just stuff absolutely everywhere, her bedding covered in makeup, his bedclothes half off.

Every day i tell them to tidy their rooms and everyday they leave them like this. I feel like they are just taking the piss out of me!!!!! Its not like they are babies they are 13 and 11 ffs!! It just an ongoing battle and nothing makes them change!!

Give them an hour to tidy up and put things in their places properly, and say that at the end of the hour if things are not put aways properly whatever is left out is going to a charity shop.... (or at least say thats where its going and keep it for a while until they learn to keep their things nice) xxx

I told you earlier Jo what i did, getting everything that was out and putting it in a big pile in the middle of the rooms, sent them up to tidy with the warning i would chuck whatever was left out (and i meant it) and 3 hrs later i went up and they were exactly the same!!!!!!!!!

I am calmer now but i have just totally had it up to here! I spend my frikken life cleaning!!

Well do it then hun, well maybe not chuck it out but make out that you have but just stick it in the garage/attic/shed if you have them x

my room is still shocking now! there clothes everywhere. but we hav no storage until we have some money to get some wardrpobes and drawers so everythings just in piles everywhere x

Go Mara!!! They prob think it's easier cos they are on the 2nd floor and you dont in their rooms and therefore dont seem them as much as you did in the other house.

Glad you have calmed down now - your house is big enough to clean without them adding to it.

My mum use to be really strict with our bedrooms she would warn us to tidy them in an hour which we didnt n carried on playing etc she would come in wiv black sacks n take everything that was messy and wouldnt let us have them back till we had done the rest. It doid work xx

i had to put my foot down with my ohs son a few months back his room was disgusting - whole house was a tip to be honest we have way to much stuff and not enough room, so i decided it was time to be ruthless and gut the whole house i chucked loads and wen it got to step sons room i totally stripped everything gutted it was very ruthless with what i chucked out and room was immaculate nxt time he came across i told him id be checking his room weekly and if it wasnt left in the clean state i had left it in he wud be grounded the nxt week with no tv, no comp, no phone!! and to be fair other than telling him to make his bed or bring down dishes his room has always been kept tidy!
jst shame bout the rest of the house now haha, my oh not the best at being tidy and evan likes nothing better than for his toys to be all over floor
