Alfie is refusing to drink his milk! The past couple of night he has only drank 1oz of his last bottle and only 4oz of his afternoon bottle. Today he has had: 8oz bottle porridge with strawberries and banana for brekkie (made with 2oz of whole milk) spaghetti bolognaise for dinner 4oz of a 8oz bottle (which he then refused to take) beef stroganoff for tea (which he spewed up) 1oz of his last bottle When he was taking his last bottle all he wanted to do was go to sleep. I put him in his cot and he rolled over and went to sleep in seconds. But Im worried that its not enuf and hes gonna wake during the night for a feed (which he hasnt done in 4 months). Do u think that I shud try a dream feed before i go to bed or just leave him? Im in two minds as it might wake him up and then well struggle to get him back to sleep but thinking maybe cos he spewed his tea he might have an upset tummy and the milk might make it worse? Any advice? x

hmmmmmmm i would leave him and just wait to see - if he wakes up at least it isn't a common thing, he might be feeling a bit off cos of teething, growth spurt, upset tummy...but if he wants to sleep i would say it's probably worth letting him get some rest and see how he is. if he does wake up i would maybe see if he wanted some water, just cos his fluid intake hasn't been massive today? and he will probably take more milk too...

i'd be tempted to leave him amy, ava was like that a week or so ago and she slept all the way through ( i still usually wake her for a dream feed at 11pm).

yeah i think il take a bottle with water to bed with me tonight. he shudnt be hungry cos hes had food and i have give him a few oz of water here and there. im just really starting to think hes going off milk. i think im gonna drop his afternoon bottle as he obv just isnt interested anymore. at his age does lack of milk still make them hungry? or just thirsty?

im not sure, you have been weaning for a good couple of months haven't you? maybe if you drop his bottle and just see how he goes, and keep offering water when he eats? im sure after a couple of days you will be able to tell if he is still hungry and needs the bottle

i'm sure he'll be ok, ava goes off her food and milk when her teeth are playing up but's usually ok the next day, , had a quick look on the cow and gate site just to double check what hv said and it said a minimum of a pint of milk a day which is about 16ozs x
