and not in the musical sense..
When Milo gets angry he'll bang his head on the floor/wall/door/basically any hard surface he can find. It's usually if he's not allowed to have something of mine (like my dinner, even though he has his own!) or if i've taken something away from him if he's tried to break it/hit me with it etc.. (even though i take it away gently, not agressively) or even if i leave the room to go to the loo or get him a drink, he'll just lose it! It scares me so much as I'm worried he'll hurt himself, but I don't have a clue what to do about it . If I ignore it, he carries on, if i pick him up he'll pull my hair or poke me in the eye I end up just putting him on our bed (its a futon, so only like an inch of the floor) and leaving him to it until he calms down and finds me for a hug, but i feel terrible for doing even that.

Is tehre anything I can do to calm him down? i feel like a terrible mum, seeing him get so worked up

i know it sounds harsh but i think the best thing to do is ignore the behaviour and let him get on with it, he will soon learn its not getting your attention and stop! i dont think he will do any serious damage x

I agree with what your doing, I think thats the best solution tbh. Its just his way of venting his emotions..Milo head bangs, my LO throws or hits anything he can within reaching distance . I just remove him from the situation if there's a risk of him hurting himself (or breaking something) and leave him to it
They still need to express their emotions, but he'll soon realise that its not getting him any attention if thats what he's seeking. x

Izzy is a thrower too lately - if she gets mad and she doesn't have anything in her hand she just grabs what ever she can see and chucks it - usually its her toys and she has never thrown anything important til tonight...under the charge of OH she threw and broke a mug!

I ignore it too - if I tried to console her or stop he paddy she would do it longer - if I ignore it then she stops in about 30 seconds and forgets why she did it
