With our first dog we did crate training and really worked well. The 2nd dog it was summer so used to let him out all the time. If you have some puppy taining pads and put a bit of wee on one then put near door in kitchen, hopefully will go there but make sure u clean other areas prob as puppy will want to go where he can smell hes been before. I personally think its best to restrict where puppy can go ie crate or puppy pen and let out often. They dont tend to soil their own bed x

I tried that spray and it did nowt! However the mats worked ok...you can move them closer and closer to the door... then kick em up the bum when you want them to wee outside!

I also tried Get Off which is to stop them going in places...that didnt work either!

To encourage them to wee outdoors and not in the house you should crate them at night - a dog is unlikely to wee/poo in its own sleeping space so if it knows it sleeps there it will probably go outside when you take it before bedtime

I agree with the crate, we had one for our springer and I think she pee'd in the house about 3 times the whole we had her. We just used to let her out every hour ish (when she was a pup) and then once more before bed and she would hold on til the morning, we NEVER had a poo in the house either.

If you look at them and think they look a bit cruel (I must admit I did in the beginning), honestly our dog loved hers, we only had to say bedtime and she would go in it herself. xxx

My two are both crate trained and neither of them ever pee or poop in it.

When Frostie was a puppy we used to take him out about every half hour and give him loads of praise when he performed.
