I thought all penicillin type anti-b's sort of did the same job. Mario/lias mprob know best. In my uneducated head some are maybe slightly better at targeting certain infections but still work. Most ab's iv had say in leaflet something like- you have been prescibed this medication because you have an upper/lower respitary tract infection/throat infection/ x infection/y infection.... What were you given them for before?

Yeah hun they are a broad spectrum anti-b, and often used for UTI's, throats, chests, and general infections. Just make sure you finish course, and expect a bit of an upset tum. Some people get the tummy wobbles, and some dont! Usual dose is 250-500mg Three times a day Hope they help hun xxx

Amoxicillin is for a chest infection...if its a bad chest 250mg probably wont touch it....id start it then if you dont improve over the weekend try and get to your docs you may need something more specific and stronger. Amoxicillin is one of the cheapest antibiotic thats y it is most commonly used (as we have been told by our pharmacist). We tend to find we need a second course of a better antibiotic whenever one of our patients are prescribed it.

That should see it off hun! Yes I agree it is one of the cheaper ones, however I find its more to do with how often the person has been given it over the years, as to how well it works. If you havent taken it often mara, this should do the trick nicely.
