Hi ladies

Well yesterday was very stressful!! On Friday night alfie just seemed to be getting worse and worse. throughout this he has still been a good sleeper and good to setlle on a night time but on Friday he wouldnt stop screaming and screaming. We didnt get him to sleep till about 10 and he was pooping like a trouper during the night. Yesterday morning i checked his temp which was 38.2 so gave him some calpol, stripped him and managed to get his temp back down to 36.8. He just kept crying and cvrying as if he was in pain and when i changed one of his nappies his poo was blood streaked. He seemed quite weak too and wudnt take any fluid atb all

So took him into hospital. They did blood tests and urine sample which all came back fine. They had a bit prod and took his temp. They managed to get some sorta Lucazade in him which perked him up straight away and said his blood sugar levels were low. They put this drip into his arm to hydrate him. They also wanted to do a stool sample but he isnt producing enough at one time to make a sample up.His diarreah is literally slimy goo (tmi sorry!) So gotta sample pot and gotta try and scrape enough of some of his nappies to make a sample and hand it in.

So from wat i understood he has got some sorta rotavirus which is very nasty and is summat to do with his small intestines? They let us leave about 8.30 and we got home and 9 and alfie went straight to sleep and him and gav are still tucked up in our bed now!! bless them.

hopefully he will pick up from now but we can take him back anytime in 72 hrs if he isnt getting any better.

Thanks for the messages on here - means alot x

awww thats horrible, hopefully it will pass now and he will feel better for the fluids - you can get powder at the chemist to help re-hydrate your baby too (although they probably told you that). so glad he is ok i hope you get a bit of rest too it must have been horrible! Smile
