Afternoon girls,

As the title says I have had a bleed and spent the night in hospital being monitored.

Went to the loo last night just before bed and when I wiped there was some blood on the tissue (I have a habit of checking the tissue everytime I wipe....do any of you ladies do this?). Rang the labour ward and they told me to go in but also put a pad in to monitor my blood loss. Midwife checked the pad when I got there and there was fresh blood and enough to soak the pad, was put on a fetal monitor baby was fine and moving a hell of a lot, I was also feeling fine. Had an internal (not nice) which showed some more bleeding but couldn't see the cause so they admitted me for observation.
Consultant came to see me this morning and had everything checked again and the bleeding had stopped, baby was fine and I felt fine so they said I could go home but to go straight back if I started to bleed again. They want to see me again at 36 weeks for scan....so all in all had a very eventful night.

Have any of you ladies had bleed in the 3rd tri and what did it turn out to be?

Oh god hun what a nightmare!!

No, I've not had a bleed so late on so cant really give any advice but glad its all stopped now and you are both finer - fingers crossed it was just a one off.

argh what a horrible night for you! hope everything stays quiet - i guess at 36 weeks they will be checking the position of the placenta in case it crept over your cervix a wee bit? that is a common reason for bleeding (although i think its quite heavy usually). or maybe if baby is pushing on your cervix as he/she gets bigger it has just caused a little surface bleed?

im glad they took you in though, and you know now that you can go back any time if anything happens take care of yourself and get your feet up! (and if i were you, get on maternity/sick leave...but thats just me )

hiya hun .i had bleeds through my pregnancy at various week .. they dont know why but it was never nothing bad x
