| Bethany is still in her cotbed and it is still in the cot position and she still seems very comfy, has plenty of room. But from reading Mario's post and other posts where people have mentioned big girl/boy beds, can I assume that as Bethany is still in the cot that at this age we would when moving her not bother with the cotbed position and just go straight to a bigger bed for her?? Any help would be great, I feel such a div for asking this!!! xx |

| Don't cot beds (in bed mode) see them until they are 5ish?
We had to move Moo for safety's sake, if Bethany is comfortable as she is leave her as long as pos, then when the times right just go to cotbed mode |

| How does she sleep Lesley? Straight off / needs lots of visits before going off / thrashes about in sleep / same position on waking / fusses to sleep / wakes in the night / scales the bars / out like a light etc?! I'd weigh all that up and judge whether you think she's ready - we'd have a wrecked bedroom and a bean climbing the curtains if he could climb out of bed I think so we're in no rush, letting him guide us. xx |

| Thanks for the advice ladies, I think we've still got a good few months of Bethany being happy in her cot and I will probably see how she likes it in the bed position xx |

| pmsl Terri Lesley if size-wise she's fine in cot bed (top to toe - ours is huge so can't see it not being fine) then you may as get the use out of it as a small single as and when you think she's ready for the move. Like Zee we may have the decision made for us - he's a couple of inches off doing an army-type mission over the top of the bars... xx |

| Jaiden went from cot to bed (we have a cot bed) but that was just in preperation for Sophia needing to have the cot
Jaiden doesnt really move around an awful lot in his sleep but Sophia is completely the opposite she can end up completely the wrong way round so im not quite sure what im gonna do with her yet |

| Thomas is in his cotbed but with the side off (only took one off - seemed sturdier and looks quite cool like a day bed type of thing).

| The only real reasons I am moving Izzy is that a) her nursery is so small that she can pretty much reach everywhere - and grabs everything including the blind, so he cot has to be in the middle lol - very annoying! and b) I swear she will fall out soon and cos its such a small room she will land on some item of furniture! |

| C is a very wriggly sleeper but has improved of late. We have a rail on one side and a duvet on the floor on the other and cos its a race car bed its only about a foot off the floor, i figure if she does topple out she will learn to stay still and wont get too much of a bump. Plus its 3 foot wide (full size single not a toddler bed) so shes got loads of space in there. TBH if she had been our only one id have not done the move yet and when i did id have turned her cotbed into its bed mode but im gonna need the cot by next summer once Awen outgrows the moses and her nanna bought the bed for us so we thought we'd get her used to it now so she doesnt think of the cot as hers aymore by the time baby goes in it |

| Jamie has a cot bed and its still in cot mode he's happy and has not tried to climb out and theres plenty of room so im gonna leave him be till i think he needs it changing to bed mode, the bed mode will last to about age 5 as a single bed would be to big for him yet and will save on not having to buy a junior bed, will be getting the new baby a cot bed also |

| Guess what?! Izzy fell out of the cot just now!!! Why?! Cos OH didnt put the side up, I move it down cos I have bad hips and it hurts to lift her in and out, but I'm not going to put it back up til I put her back in, anyway he put her in there for some reason and she fell out and banged her head Was my fault though for not 'telling' him...FFS how did he not see it was down?! |

| I'm with Maxi - Seb is still in cotbed in cot mode and we'll be getting another cotbed for the new baby - we'd have to get a new mattress anyway which is half the cost. Seb thrashes around a lot, is in a Grobag still and until he is ready for potty training or tries to climb out (which he doesn't do even after naps when he is just under blankets) I don't see the problem, and then he'll go into bed mode, which is nice and low to the ground, and we'll get a duvet.
I also figure we may as well trash the cotbed bedding and mattress during potty training - mattress has a zip-off top layer that washes and dries well.
