PostSubject: Camping with a baby   Camping with a baby EmptyThu Aug 26, 2010 6:47 am

Has anyone been on a camping holiday with a baby, when we go Harry will be nearly 11 months and was just wondering if anyone else had been, and if so how was it and do you have any tips on what to take with us and what to leave behind???

Thanks in advance xx

Hey ladies..what type of camping? Tenting or an RV? It all depends. Holidays if staying in a hotel room is easy as they pretty much supply items like cribs, highchairs etc.

Tenting! You are adventurous! Well..you pretty much have to drag a lot of things with you to make it comfortable. Everything from a cook stove...your coolers full of food and drink..to your tenting supplies. Bringing a baby alone requires many things..bug spray..sun block..a comfy air mattress or foamy to sleep on as well as sleeping bags. You will have to grow eyes in the back of your head as they will find every twig..rock..to play with. Also..keeping an eye around the fire pit..kids are drawn to fires. Lots of dressing in layers for the weather.. Disposable plates..cutlery..and cups..cookware..like a frying pan..salt and pepper...coffee and camp coffee maker..dish soap..towels..TOILET PAPER...rain gear..tarps...axe...camp chairs..bottle opener..for the beer...lol

Hey Jen thanks for that advice hun, but we have loads of equipment, and the site we are going to has loads of facilities so we're kinda cheating we wont be camping in the middle of the woods, and you're not allowed camp fires on the site we are going too lol thank you for the advice, and thanks Kell that would be awesome to know how you get on! xx

LOL..you actually have to bring a little shovel with you to poop in the woods here..must dig a hole..than bury it! If you don't the dogs will roll in it..and you may attract some unwanted guests like bears! xxx
