Just wondering for those of you that have your houses all nicely decorated, etc. Are you happy with them? Do you find when you get in from work or playgroup or whatever, a sense of ahh i'm home and i love it?!!!! It's just that we moved house a few months ago, and have done NOTHING! Everywhere is seriously disgusting and i am so excited about doing it up. We have just started stripping the wallpaper in Isla's bedroom, and doing research into wallpaper, paint, decoration. But i am just worried that even when it is all done and other rooms that i will still be dissatisfied. Sorry if i am not making sense, i just have all these aspirations at the moment and just wondering if i am being unrealistic in thinking these things will make me happy/ier. x x x

| I think when you do it the way you want you will get that satisfaction.
I do feel like this most of the time but there will be days when I get home and the place is a mess and I dont. or if a room needs redecorating I dont feel it until the room is re done. Ive just recently decorated my bedroom again and everytime I step in it it makes me happy. want to do hannahs room again next

I always think any change is good for the soul. It means you've got something to look forward to and thats so important I think. Yeh im the same with things like that getting me down. I suppose you house doesnt feel personal yet - like a home. We've got to decorate soon as well, LOVE choosing everything but HATE the work that's involved x

I feel really content at home. I love sitting in our living room at night and chilling out on the sofa and feeling all relaxed with how it looks. x

Ah this all sounds quite promising! Our last place was relatively nice, but i have really expensive tastes (that we can't afford) so i suppose part of me always wants that little bit more. Which is really bratty i know! I have got my sewing machine now, so i am excited about making up blinds and curtains, etc and getting more creative to suit our budget. It's just being patient isn't it, like you say Meg it's all the work that is involved which is really time consuming when little ones and work are put into the equation! x x x

i hate our flat, i really hate it and i cant seem to keep on top of it - i get really jealous when i watch tv shows like kirsty's homemade home and wish it was mine i also get really jealous when i look at susan+libby+1's pics, her rooms always look dead tidy and nicely decorated not in a creepy stalker way, i just want someone to come and magic my house like that!

It's taken a lot of hard work to get it how it is but I LOVE our bungalow and do feel very relaxed and content with how it is now. It is daunting when you have alot of work to do though - when we moved in we literally gutted the place, replastered, new kitchen, new bathroom, redecorated, new carpets etc etc, the trouble with us is we just couldnt live with it the way it was so did it all in 6 months!! But it was all worth it. xx

I hate my house but only because I have literally no storage, there's bits everywhere! I've tried getting rid of stuff but the things we have we need. It's only a small two bed house, I reckon I've got enough to fill a four bed lol! I'm sure once you've managed to get some decorating done you'll feel better in your home! You just need to make it yours!

I love watching Kirstie's programmes, but generally find them quite envy enducing!! Storage is a big problem in our house too, as DH has so much crap (which he didn't sort before we moved ). And two munchkins have an excessive amount of stuff. Hoping that as they get older, the house will seem less clutter, mmm, wishful thinking maybe!
