Aaaaah don't get me started on this, the system is ridiculous!! We're in the process of trying to get a marriage visa for my husband (he's foreign, not a criminal though! haha) so he can live with me in England, and the amount of checks, paperworks, the cost of it.. he'll have to take an English test too, show his bank accounts to prove he'll have enough money to live there, as we won't be able to claim benefits AT ALL while we're there (fair enough). But if he came over illegally, he'd have a good chance of getting benefits, a house?? What part of this makes sense?? How can it be harder for honest, hardworking people, already married to UK citizens, to apply??
aaaaand breathe.
Other side of the story though, I worked for a while with asylum seekers and their stories were more than heartbreaking, so I find it difficult to judge anyone who's trying to escape what they were escaping, and live knowing their families were still in danger. I cried so much in that job.
aaaand breathe again.
However, that tw*t in the story above..I have no words. Mucking ridiculous.
