hmmmmmm, its pretty much motorway isn't it, so if its not heavy snow you'd be ok, but up north they did struggle to keep the roads ice free last week

I think it should be fine once you hit the motorways hun. M25 might be a bit of a nightmare with traffic - last minute shoppers etc but once you hit the M1/A1M you should be fine - they usually manage to keep that clear. The problems might come when you come off onto the smaller roads up north if they have had bad snow, you'll have to keep in touch with family to see what it's like at their end hun. What time of day are you seting off? Normally I would reccomend driving through the night to avoid rush hour traffic etc but having Tay in the car if anything were to happen at night might be a bit daunting . We will be driving up north that day too but wont be setting off till the kids bedtime so they sleep all the way in the car and we dont have to stop for feeds/bum changes. We only have a 2 1/2 hour journey though - not 5 1/2 xx

Well were going to set off about 6ish after Tay had been bathed and fed and ready for bed and then she will sleep the whole way (fingers crossed, she did last time!) and we got there at 1am then Like you said though it the getting off the A1 (i think) which will be the worrying bit, Inlaws have just gone and got a house out in the sticks too so dodgy country roads ekk.... I was hoping it would snow heavy so we didnt have to go but now i feel guilty! Good luck on ur trip Debs

Kenty, I'm in Essex next door to Kent and it's not bad snow we had a melt then we've had another 5cm yesterday but nothing since - is it gillingham you're off to. My oh 'rents live in Chatham if you need updates:) roads are fine especially motorways - just avoid bloody lakeside and bluewater traffic or trading hours - I'm hoping to head over to Sheppey to deliver to a nursery - photo orders so best be able to make it Good luck all you ladies and gents travelling over Christmas take care xxx
