First topic message reminder :

Whats the difference between a pancake and a crumpet? Iv just had a crumpet for the 1st time, Amy on here was talking about them recently and then I spied them in Tesco and thought Id give them ago. (God I live life in the fast lane dont I Rolling Eyes )

While they were nice... they just looked and tasted like pancakes with holes in them. Are they meant to taste like that?

Oh and also do you guys have potato bread in England? A few people I know who have left NI complain they cant get it anywhere Shocked Laughing .

Iv never made it myself but that does sound right. I trust it because of the intro to the recipe Laughing Have you had it before? You should def try it, iv prob built it up too much now lol, its just a tradition to have in a fry here.

I am almost tempted to make it myself after seeing that. Though its not dear to buy and im lazy. Will def be having a fry this week... just need to get the car dug out to get to tesco!

No i've never tried it, my nan was irish and i think she used to make it but i dont recall trying it. I am a big fry up fan so will deffo try it when i have time as it does sound quite easy (famous last words!) I usually have fried bread but it just soaks the fat up too much. Its weird that you cant buy it in England really given that there are lots of Irish people here and it sounds like it is really popular x

Pmsl snoop my kitchen is permanently packed with bread related crap! It drives me insane tbh, here's me trying to diet and OH comes home armed with bags of carbs! We have fresh bread (straight off the line) everyday, it's still blummin warm when he brings it home, how am I supposed to resist that?

Tbh hun I'm not even sure if the potato cakes are kingsmill now, could be sunblest coz they make both brands I don't look at the packaging. Same company make sainsburys own and waitrose own brands too as well as ryvita and burgen. Needless to say our park has the best fed ducks around Laughing

Mmmmm you making me jealous deb. I could never diet in your house! In fact all this talk about bread is making me crave cheese on toast Rolling Eyes . Iv already had 2 packets of crisps while watching the telly. I need to go to bed earlier as most of my eating is done subconciously in the evening!
