| We're not having a starter there's going to be so much food for dinner, that I don't want People to fill up too much. Some ideas though: melon bruschetta, Tricolore salad - mozzarella, tomato and avocado
Also try www.bbc.co.uk/food you can filter the recipe search by course, so that might give you some ideas x

| Id say the mozzarella, toms and avocado salad - I absolutely love it! Get a bit of nice olive oil dressing and some pesto, and fresh crusty rolls
mmmmm one of my fav starters! |

| We're not having a starter either. Will prob have a sandwhich/nibbles at MILS at midday and then having our own full turkey dinner at 4-430pm. The amount of food in the main meal is enough I think... and then obviously need to save space for dessert at about 6/7pm. Melon isnt that filling but I suppose not the most exciting either. If I had to eat a starter at xmas Id prob pick it, or a small bowl of home made veg soup... its mainly water anyway! |

| ooo that is difficult as i would have suggested pate, soup, smoked salmon etc and all of those are out! I think i am doing a shredded duck salad which is easy and nice or you could not bother with a starter and do a selection of canapes like smoked salmon blinis, chicken satay skewers etc so there is something to keep everyone happy! |

| Ooh I'm the same as Penny - I think starter is the best part of the meal. We are also eating out and I'm having smoked duck, pinenut and rocket salad.
We ate at home last year and my brother did duck confit with rocket and balsamic dressing it was absolutely delicious!

| All you non starter eaters are ninnys You have to eat til you pop on xmas day = at least 1/2 a selection box for breakfast (well they cant eat it all themselves can they) , half a pack of nuts, nibbling on veg/marzipan/ingredients of some description all morning while cooking, then 3 big courses, a reasonable amount from the tin of quality street (cos you bought too many tins), turkey butties, a pork pie, , a big slice of cake, 6 chocs off the tree,2 mince pies, some more nuts..and its only 3pm |
