My son is so inconsolable atm..he just found out that one of his friends shot himself last night. I don't know what to do...

Oh my god. That is awful. How sad, your poor son, and that poor person's family. I honestly wouldn't know what to say to your son either. xx

jesus !!!! thats terrible Dont think there is much you can say to him at the moment, i expect he is in shock. Do you know if it was suicide or an accident? His poor parents xx

He killed himself. Matt said he is a well liked kid who didn't at all seem troubled. He just saw him on Friday joking around with him at school. He was apparently drinking alone, found a gun and killed himself at his home. I just can't image his poor family right now.

poor lad, he must have been pretty low to take his own life. I just cant imagine what his parents are going through. Such a waste of a young life xx

That is awful, maybe the school will organise some counselling for other students who knew him. Hope Matt is ok x

Thanks ladies..so just wasn't expecting to have this conversation with him just yet. I will let him lead when he's ready to talk. Just told him I love him and will be here to support he and his friends should they need some place to go. Looks like he will be meeting up with a bunch of mutual friends of Jordan to console each other. He doesn't need a lecture or the value of life chat from me or his dad right now...

Oh god, that is tragic. to Matt, his friends, you and the family of the guy.

I experienced a cpl of deaths in high school, thankfully not of my closest friends. I think the offer of giving him and his mates space and time in the house together to meet/console/talk it over is a good idea. Plenty of snacks and drinks on tap. They probably still in shock and may even get quite angry in the next few weeks. I cant offer much advice. Im so sorry this has happened. xxx

Poor Matt and that poor guys parents too. My thoughts are with Matt at the mo hun as he has had a tough year losing some friends after the accident earlier in the year too. Thinking of you, all you can do is let him know you are there for him when he needs to talk xxx

aw god no i think ur right, its best to just let him know ur there when he is ready to open up on his feelings. make sure he still eats and gets plenty sleep. last thing he needs for him self if to wear him self out emotionally. im so sorry for the family x
