| Subject: still being sick????? Fri Dec 24, 2010 7:08 am | |
| argh, so elijah has always been a sicky boy - it has calmed a lot as he has grown older but we thought it would be much calmer once he was on solids but alas, no.
is it normal for a baby to *still* throw up after near enough every feed/meal? could it be just that he doesn't know when to stop (we usually decide to stop when he opens his mouth for more and the last mouthful leaks out) or could there be something more to it???
his weight has always been ok and he isnt in pain, its just odd that at 7 months its still going on?? |

| hmmm it does sound to me that he is eating to much - or maybe too fast?n could you maybe try giving him smaller meals with snacks in between? tbh alfie has never been a sicky baby unless hes not very well so not got much eperience there but i wud consider taking him to the docs just for reassurance. altho if he is gaining weight ok they wil prob say theres nothing wrong with him!. x |

| they have kept a good eye on his weight til recently cos he was slow to gain at the start and was sicky - its been fine though and he has jumped up 2 centiles from the 9th to the 50th. i might try slowing him down cos he barely finishes one mouth when he has his mouth wide open for the next one! |

| Thomas was very sick and he has reflux. This was not diagnosed until 1 yr. Have a look in toddler bit as put a post about him and maybe there will be other similarities x |

| my first baby was also very sicky. She didn't have reflux, i was told that her stomach muscle wasn't strong enough. I was told it would ease when she started solids, it didn't. Then when she started crawling, then walking. She was about 18months before it stopped completely. I just had to bear with it and go through lots of clothes. She is completely fine now. |

| I was going to say is it reflux... there are many things other than gaviscon for reflux - and maybe this is the reason he doesn't sleep well? |

| hmm possibly, although it is better than when he was tiny...we have cut back on acidy foods like lots of apple/pear/berries and that seems to have improved a bit |

| sounds like some kind of heartburny/reflux thing then... Id try and get a doctors appointment to check it out... OR if you can find one near you a cranial osteopath... I know it soubnds mad doesn't it but I know a lady with a baby boy who had very bad reflux and he went to a cranial osteopath and she did a few things... had to have a few visits but it completely changed the little boy and seemed to sort out or greatly improve his reflux! |

| i have heard good things about cranial osteopathy - i might look into it once we are finished moving house, i think that a regular food routine and (hopefully) better sleep should help it too |

| ahhh i was going to post something very similar to this!!! benjamin is the same...hes a greedy big big baby, and likes nothing more than ten zillion bottles a day, cuddling into you...but obviously his tummy cant hold it all so he ends up puking up grrrr i may go to the doctors too, as the past couple of days hes been very grumpy and moaning to himself all day, randomly crying (not a screaming painful cry tho!) ahhhh being a mother is such a worrying thing lol hope u find out whats up hun xxx |
