My husband is has man flu' and to make him feel better (and hopefully shut him up!) i said i would make a honey and lemon for him, but not sure what quantities to use??

I make a normal lemon tea...which is a cup of hot water and a slice or 2 of lemon (depending how lemony you want it...maybe use one and then test!) and then I add a tea spoon of honey

I tried it - it came our very sour and strong at the same time - cooked up some sliced fresh lemon in a pan with some water, mixed with honey and more water - urgh it left me feeling worse!

Does he have a favourite fruit juice? Orange, apple, cranberry, grape etc.?

You can put a teaspoon (level) of honey in a mug, add half a cup of boiling water and top up with as good a fruit juice as you can muster. Vitamins in the fruit, good properties of the honey, warm and comforting from the water which also makes it tasty but not too sweet or strong.

Failing that - lemsip powder, spoon of honey, make with hot water and top up with orange juice (in the same proportions as you would do water / milk for a cuppa but water / OJ instead).

I saw in Sainsburys today they have a range of 'flu' medicine called ManFlu ...its 3for2 at the moment...cos men need more medicine than us

thats obvious Grace...men are always iller than us, so it makes sense they produce twice as much snot as us!

I just squeeze half a lemon into a mug, top it up with boiling water and add the honey to taste. x

I sqeeze half alemon in my mug and then sqeeze honey in as much i want i add a splash fruit juice to take bitterness away then hotwater! i actually enjoy it.x
