Well after my stupid biatch of a SIL sent that nasty message to me, I ignored it and gave them a lovely card with £35 in it (doesn't sound like alot, but to me it's a hell of alot - I could do alot with that right now!!) and had bought them some sweets, I left them with my parents for them as I knew they would be going round there (and not bother to come here).

So anyway, saw my parents today and my brother and SIL had bought Libby a cuddly dog and a cardigan, they also gave us a card - which I opened later. I kind of expected some vouchers or cash in it but when I opened it there was nothing!!!

My parents spent an absolute fortune on me, Simon and Libby and I couldnt spend it on them as I just couldnt afford to so I felt so upset that I had been so stupid as give my brother and SIL the money when I could of spent alot more on my parents.

I'm absolutely gutted as well because I really thought more of my brother - I cant believe how he's being let alone my SIL.

I've had enough now and been upset far too often because of them so this is it - I'm not making anymore of an effort. If they want to come and see Dexter when he is born tough shit - even if they buy a present for him when he's born they can have it back. As far as I'm concerned they've burnt their bridges now.

I would feel exactly the same! Please dont waste any more of your emotions on them......I had to do this with my eldest sister and her hubbie (whos a right cock!)

It gets easier, but try not to wind yourself up over it.....just move on, as they really arent worth your tears, however I would have to let them know that im disowning them!

Susan i totally know how u feel, i said it your last post that i had a family member like that, My cousin who is more of a sister to me (we are/were really close, grew up together and she came to cyprus with me and is still there) well when i was pregnant she was like off im going to buy her this and that blah blah blah...nothing whilst i was preg. She brought nothing when Tay was born, nothing not even a card for her 1st xmas, nothing again for her 1st bday! Then she falls preg and silly me sends over parcels of pressies for her when shes was preg for her lo. When he was born i brought loads, then this xmas we agreed to spend £30 each on the kids, well i spent more than £50. She rings me yesterday to thank me....and NO mention of her getting anything for Tayla im so upset!

Suse your brother is the one to blame hun. His wife has him by the balls and unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. Once that ring was slipped on her skanky finger..it seems it was linked to a invisible ball and chain to his twig and berries. He is bound to his biatch of a wife..and we can only pray that one day soon..he will see the light and either tell her to go piss up a rope or encourage her to be more loving and thoughtful to you. My guess is that he will opt for option A eventually. Other than that hun..I hope you had an incredible Christmas despite that one person trying to get under your skin. She doesn't deserve a SIL like you! Hugs. xxx

Jen, we did have a lovely christmas - christmas day was just me, Simon and Libby and it was great, so relaxed and chilled out

I just feel so hurt by it all, the stupid thing is the only thing I can think of thats caused all this shite is because I sent my SIL a birthday card (in June) but it must of got lost in the post because she didnt get it, they basically thought I lied and didnt send anything!!!

Me and my brother were so close and it really does break my heart that he thinks so little of me

Susan, sorry I don't know the history behind this but I do remember your other posts about your sil. Is there a reason why she's so mean to you? Was there a falling out or something that she's never got over? Has she got her own children?? Just thought she may be envious of you having libby and lo on the way???

No, we all got on really well for years - even a year ago my brother came and re-wired our bungalow for us and they would come round every weekend to see us.

Like I said the only thing I can think of was the birthday card that went missing - they think I lied but I have no idea why!!

With regards to them being jealous - they have never wanted children (dont have any now) and are VERY materialistic, they have a 4 bed house, porsche & mini, both get a decent wage so I dont think they are jealous.

I just dont understand why they are being like this

I know Christmas is supposed to be about the giving more than the receiving, but I am fed up with Dan's family

Every year he buys gifts for his cousins, who are now like 18/20...so could blimin well buy one back, but their parents never even buy Dan one.

We didn't even get so much as a card for either us or Izzy from Dan's Granddad - even though he took her to see him with a gift from us on boxing day!

I just think its disgusting that they take our gifts and never think they should return the thought and give Dan a gift.

Susan, I really don't know what to think about your sil, only that she must be pretty mean to behave the way she does. But to be honest I feel your brother should not let do the things she does, maybe he doesn't even realise that she didn't give you and oh something for Christmas.

I just can't help thinking that she may be a bit jealous of what you have because no matter how much money you have it doesn't guarentee happiness does it?

Anyway, I hope you're not as upset now as this woman isn't worth all the upset.

Lisa, I totally know what you mean with regard to inlaws Christmas presents and grown up kids. My oh insists on giving his neice (24) two nephews (13 and 18) £40 in their cards yet he knows that his bitchface sister gives ours shite costing no more than £5!!!!!
