| After spending pretty much all of the last three nights awake with Rhys I have started giving him a bottle at night as he still seems hungry, but with cow and gate he is throwing it up so wondered which one you ladies recommended! Expressing isn't working either atm! Also how much would you give him? The packets say 4oz for 8lb 8oz baby but he will happily drink that and still look for more! Am pleased I managed to feed this long but am gutted it seems to be over!! Xx |

| I started with Aptimil - was told that was the closest to BM - Izzy was fine on that for quite a few months, I only changed to Hipp Organic for personal reasons (cos its organic) and she has been on that ever since.
I ignored what they suggested as amounts, especially when she was small, as she took way more than they said - just give it him til he stops, he wont take too much.
Maybe try some cartons, or some do the larger bottles so you can get a few bottles out of it - at least then you'd not waste a whole box if he didnt get along with it. |

| Have been and got aptimil and hipp organic cartons! He's just had an aptimil one and hasn't been as sick as he had been being yet! So fingers crossed!

| we had aptimil ready made at first - but elijah got constipated (haha like he does with almost anything!) and had lots of sore bum wind - moved to hipp organic and it was great - he really liked it. personally i would maybe make a 6oz bottle - then if he doesn't finish it there isn't much wasted, but if he is still hungry it should be enough (although again, i remember elijah drinking anything between 3 to 8oz in the first 3 months, i thought he would pop!) it doesn't necessarily mean 'the end' for breastfeeding if you don't want it to be - we mixed fed for months with no problems and it was a lifesaver for me (and eventually managed to go back to just bf, but now weaning). you have done fantastically well - nearly 6 weeks of keeping a little baby alive all by yourself |

| Stephen has aptamil too and they do the little cartons so you could try it and see if he gets on ok with it. Like Lisa says, i never took much notice of the amounts they say on the packet. I would just make up enough so he leaves a small amount in the bottle every feed x x |

| Got aptimil and hipp cartons and tried him on the aptimil first and he's kept it down so he's on that for now! Seems to be happier too! Just me that's depressed about it!! I seem to be drying up very quickly! The only problem I can see is he is a little constipated but think thats just the change over!
Thanks for all your replies ladies!
