Tough one because I don't want to be ungrateful but it's annoying. We got presents from Matt's extended family today. She got an aged 3-4yrs tshirt... Imogen's fairly small as it is so still in 9-12months clothes atm so basically this top is huge. Guess i'll just keep in the drawer for a couple of years. Then she got a toy camera from her Great Nan, we already have it but fine nice thought... but then i open the next present from Aunty and it's the same camera. I wonder if they knew? Guess not everyone talks about what they bought other people. Then she got a knitted cow thing, it's meant to be cuddly but it's just ridiculously scratchy and Imogen wasn't impressed. I feel bad though as I saw it was £6.50 which personally I think is so much for a horrible cuddley toy for a great niece who they never see.
I reread and I probs do sound ungrateful, i just hate that they waste their money on things Imogen is going to get no enjoyment out of. I would have preferred they not spend the money and just sent a card.
Last year it was the same, they sent really odd things for her and i tried to hint this year we weren't sending big presents for them so don't worry about sending anything for Imogen but obviously the message didn't get through.
Another issue is all these random people I've only met once maybe twice sent presents for her too, and i feel really guilty now cause they didn't even cross my mind when i was thinking about buying presents. I guess it's their choice if they wanted to buy her presents, but does sort of guilt me into buying them something next year and I hate that.
