hope your all well , havent been about lately been so so busy with the run up to xmas and having family staying iv not had 5 mins to myself !!
well not sure if any of you remember but i had booked a surpirse holiday to oz for my oh 30th birthday - well he knows now after 5 long month of keeping my gob shut and we leave next sunday , but the only thing is im blooody shitting myself now .........

the thought of taking theo on a plane for 24 hours has me terrified

has anyone else been mad enough to do this before and have any good tips ???

im so worried im gonna forget something were gonna really need xxxxxx

I would be the same as im get really bad anxiety when i travel, i always dream about flying and saying goodbye to people and that im rushing to pack and forget something!
Just think i you forget something you can always buy it when ur there.
As for having Theo hopefully we will sleep lots of the way! Buy some new toys to keep him occupied too. Ive flown when my lo was 4months and 9months and it was fine but only a 5 hour flight. We just drove up north and back over xmas and that was a 9hour drive!

My husband and I flew with our son last January (he was eight months then) to New Zealand. From leaving our place in the UK to arriving to my parents it was nearly 40 hours.

How heavy/big is your son? I only ask this because our son was 24lbs (nearly 11kgs), so just within the weight restrictions for the bassinet and he was well within the height restriction for our airline (Emirates) but all I can say is that they should make the weight and height restrictions a lot lower because our son didn't sleep 5 minutes in the bassinet. Didn't help us that he only sleeps on his tummy which meant he needed more space when sleeping.

If you're son will sleep in the bassinet, then you guys will be fine. I think generally families who fly long distance find that the trip is never as bad as what they were expecting (we were an exception).

All the best and once you get to Oz you will have such an awesome time that whatever the plane experience was like, that will fade in the background very quickly.

We did it years ago. It gets a bit boring. We did 12 hours to la then 10 hours stop
over. Which+was
pants, there is
sweet f a in that air port. So on the+way back we come out of the air port and went for a look around. Them it was+15 hours to aus.

my aunty and uncle live in oz and my cousin moved back here well to eastbourne for his wife to have their child here but they make regular trips to oz theyre actually there at the moment they flew on boxing day their LO Lucas is 1 but like i say theyve done it since he was 3 months old and theyve yet to have a problem with it.. he'll be fine hun enjoy your trip x

the only other thing im a little worried about is theos milk should i take his aptamil with me or just buy something when im there - i dont think it will do him any harm - will it ??

its just going to be a mission to take all the cartons of milk along with everything else that there is to take !!

maybe you could have a search on line and find out what the oz equivalent of tesco is? they are bound to have a website so you can see what you can get there hope you have an awesome time! im really jealous haha but not so much the travelling with the baby bit
