Had my gorgeous baby hollie 3 days early on the 18/12/2010 weighing 7lb 8oz.
Started getting pains on the saturday morning around 10.30am thought nothing of it because they were completley different to the pains i had with jamie. The pains where very low down and felt a lot of pressure as well. They kept coming at regular intervals so thought i best time them they where about 4 mins apart and lasting roughley 30 seconds. So about 12pm phoned the labour ward, i thought they would say come in as i had GBS and needed antibiotics in labour but the midwife said just take some paracetemol and when the pains are lasting at least 1 minute then come in. So i just carried on with what i was doing and getting bag ready just incase, by 2.30pm they where really painfull where i had to stop what i was doing with each pain but they where still only lasting about 30 seconds so i put jamie down for his nap and phoned the labour ward back, a different midwife answered and said if you think your in labour you best come in.
So rang andys mum to come and watch jamie and off we went to hospitial about 3.30pm we had heavy snow the night before so roads where quiet bad and took us longer to get there. In the car on the ways things got 10 times more painfull and i felt like pushing so was breathing really fast to stop myself (read that in a pregnancy book) got there and was struggling to walk to labour ward had to stop with every pain (loadsa people about as well )
when i got there she examined me and was 9cm dialated and then waters went when i had a contraction, midwife had to jump out the way they went everywhere. Then next thing i know im pushing within minutes of arriving on labour ward, a few pushes and she was here weighing 7lb 8oz at 4.32pm. Shes absolutley gorgeous and jamies great with her.
So glad i went hospitial when i did just 10 minutes later and she would of been born in car i just made it in time
