I love Milo to bits, obviously! lol. But he's a boy, and bounds around all the time like a cross between tigger and a small wrecking machine. He climbs over me, and I end up with a knee in my tummy, his hand pushing down on my tummy, if he wants to read a book/play with a toy he'll often bring it over and fling it hard into my tummy..you get the general idea. The other day he sat on my lap and did a proper tigger bounce on my tummy before I could stop him

This morning he tried to climb over me in bed, put his hand on my tummy and leant his whole weight on it I haven't had any bleeding or pain from any of this (apart from the usual stretching/ligament type pain) but I'm worried that too much pushing or bouncing on my tummy is going to harm the new baby but I can hardly stop Milo coming near me. I'm really skinny so I don't think there's much protection there..How are/did other mums with toddlers cope?

(oh and when I say "tummy" i mean "exactly where the baby is", it's like he has a radar!

My midwife always told me at this stage it the baby can take quite abit of it as its surrounded but all the water and your body fat (not saying your fat) she said imagen somethin the size of your little finger in the middle of a balloon full if water you can shake it around and push it and won't move or affect it!

Caelyn is the same Kat. Shes always kneeing me in belly and shoving toys into it. Shes gotten a bit better as y bumps gotten bigger and actually its gotten more like a shelf now so shes on top of it rather than digging right into it. I just keep reminding her gentle gentle with the baby and shielding when i can with my hands but i dont freak overmuch as i figure it must be ok, natures pretty good at adapting. Awen usually just kicks her back now. Start of sibling rivalry already

I just told Libby 'not on mummy's belly' over and over again and eventually she learnt.

I cant relate to this in way of a toddler, but when I was 13 weeks pregnant my fully grown chocolate labrador jumped straight at my stomach so I was worried. I asked the MW about it and she told me at this stage the baby is still encased in your pelvic girdle so unless you have any pain or bleeding then not to worry.

Phew! The not insane part of me was thinking it must be OK but the panicky pregnant brain was starting to take over. Thanks, I feel much better about it now!
