dvd help !

ok im a tad confused easily done ! ,,
my oldest bought season 7 of family guy as it had his favourite episodes on it ( wikipedia and general google told us so )
bought season 7 and it is all episode 6 episodes ?
confused much !!! with a upset child

from what i can gather , google states the episodes of season 7 that were shown on tv whereas the dvd release is different appears to be tv season 6 episodes therefore season 8 on dvd has the tv season 7 episodes on it ,,,,, ,,, is all wrong if you ask me !
ah well season 8 dvd now ordered !
