| OK, this is probably a pointless question as it only makes a few days difference I had no idea how far along I was when I went for my first scan, and the doctor dated me at 7w6d, due date July 14th, which means I would have conceived around Oct 22nd. BUT me and oh know we didn't have sex that week, don't even remember having sex the week before that either actually! At the 2nd scan last month, I was (going by the last scan's dates) 11w1d, but the baby's measurements all read 11w4d, due date July 11th. Am I right in thinking this 2nd scan would be more accurate, and I'm a few days further along than I thought? Or am I brewing another long legged huge headed baby like Milo?? The 2nd scans dates would make more sense, although we still don't remember having sex! |

| Thanks! I've cracked and moved my ticker on a few days Like you, I had loads of scans with Milo, and he went from being 3 days ahead, 1 week ahead, 2 weeks ahead - then at the last scan he was too big for the scanner to read, as it didn't go over 42 weeks size But with Milo, we knew exactly when he was conceived so it was just funny to watch him getting bigger and bigger. With this one, I have no idea when I ovulated, the uncertainty is driving me crazy! |

| Haha, call me a total geek if you will, but now each week starts on a Monday, much easier to remember how far along I am! That's a big difference in the dates isn't it! She must have been rushing to meet her mum! |

| according to the gods of google: How accurate is the scan at estimating the gestation?
In the first trimester (the first fourteen weeks), ultrasound scan is very accurate, with a margin of error of only about three or four days either way. The accuracy reduces as the pregnancy advances and may be out by as much as one week at eighteen to twenty weeks. |

| Ooh, thanks for that. OK, I'm sticking at a nice round 14 weeks, and who knows, at my next scan they'll probably tell me the baby's already 12 years old the luck I have! |
