Snoop on your kids FB?

I do. I dont always like what i read but i they are like to know i have access to what they are talking about/doing on the internet.

Yup! Id like to think though I would stop snooping when they were 16 and almost adults. Until then though, as much as I hope I will be able to trust Caitlin & bring her up to know the dangers of the internet eg paedo's etc I dont think i would be able to stop myself worrying, or blatantly being nosey. I think its a normal mothers reaction.

In saying that I would like to be honest about it. Eg tell her that if she joins FB I will be getting her account details (though who's to say the crafty cow wont set up a 2nd one lol).

I dont think id mention seeing anything unless it was really bad. Eg swearing, mild sexual talk amongst peers I think I would try to ignore and put down to age/hormones etc. However if there was reference to getting alcohol, actually having sex I do think I would have to have a chat about. Its a hard one as you want to leave it open as an avenue to check up on them but you dont want to go flying off the handle at the smallest thing and end up them covering up every trace of their internet activity. Kids these days are very internet savvy and if they chose to can very easily pull the wool over parents eyes about sites they have been visiting!

I think its a responsible parent thing to do! x

i do look everyday ..she only goes on facebook in my company on the lounge pc!! sometimes if im upstairs on lap top and she is down stairs i sign in aswell on her msn and facebook while she is on it... its not to so much see what she is writing but what her freinds write and say to her!!

i do i check ceejay's msn all the time also check my nephews msn and facebook all the time (requested by his mum)

i dont always like what i read either the language off ceejay and his friends are disgusting at times x

i snoop on meggy and taylors phones!! sometimes i wish i never thou. taylor has a bebo but is never on it. i wont allow them to have a FB. till they are old enuff to buty their own pc/laptop they can stay off the internet please and thank you. they havent worked out their phones are compatable for it yet, thank fook.

i deffinately would, not just for checking up, im too damn nosy not to, give me access and i will snoop on everybodies!

All lewis' emails for Facebook cone to my phone!
I often tell him "oh dads sent you a message about blah blah " he will then go and reply! I get emailed every poke, comment friend request. I also check his email and mobile calls made, received and all texts
He knows to hand over his phone and iPod when asked or I change the passwords !! I also sign into his fb on my phone to check his friends statuses I've also told him if I see bad spelling or bad language he loses it for a month.

I always nosey on my 15 year old sisters FB hehe! Little beggar gets up to all sorts on there!

oh yes, i would do it when paige is older. i wouly comment of every thing like my mu as it does my nut in.. but i would have a quiet look about

I've got a 20 year old daughter and a 13 year son. They're both fb addicts and I've never looked. Nor would I ever read their texts or search their bedrooms!

You see, I'd like to think in my kids eyes I'm a good person and a perfect mother! In reality I'm niethe! I'd hate for them to delve into my private things, read my texts, emails, see things that I say on here, I'd hate for them to know what i talk about with my oh or my friends and colleugues!

The same way that I would hate my parents to know the above things about me!

My 13 year old has an ap on my phone which i could click on Nd go straight into his fb but I never would.

I really don't want to know what they're up to!

I know they're safe and they're happy.

Ps- I don't live with my head in the clouds I'm totally in touch with Kids but Just don't want to know all the details.

I have checked my nephew's fb, he is 12, and messaged him to tell him he needs to update his privacy details but then I did the same to my SIL because she is scarily naive.

My childminder has heavy duty monitoring equipment for watching her teenagers' internet activity but it is invisible to them but it gives her piece of mind that they are safe. I think I would be more open about it.

i dont know tbh, i know how furious id have been if my mum had ever checked my messages and know id have just been more sneaky ie have an account she didnt know about. if i was for some reason worried they were getting into anything it may be a totally different situation. maybe im being nieve because i never got into owt dodgy when i was younger ie drugs, meeting people on the net(oh how times have changed )
id like to think we will have an honest relationship and i would be able to tell if something was wrong/going on...but im not wearing rose tinted specks and it may turn out i feel the need to...we shall see

then again i will be checking friends lists on fb and things making sure they arent adding random strangers, but dont think id check messages unless i had a reason to be concerned x
