| No i wouldnt get same colour all the way through, you'll get bored, besides you need to pick a colour that will suit the room colour and furniture and the amount of wear it takes! |

| I agree. With your bedroom you could probabily go for a more luxurious fluffy carpet where the kids won't be going and it wouldn't get as worn as a living room carpet would be so you'd want a carpet designed for medium to heavy traffic for areas walked on the most (hallway and living room) I'd probs suggest a darkish colour or a patterned carpet to hide stains. I would say avoid wool as I don't think you can clean it with one of those carpet cleaner things so you need an easy to clean carpet in the dining area, the living room, little ones room and hallways xxxxxxx |

| Just a suggestion..if you ever plan on selling your home, most buyers like to see the same carpet carried thru the entire house. Or adding laminate or hardwood in high traffic areas is a great idea. As for color, the darker beiges are great because you can choose any paint color to go with it. Also look for carpeting that has a warranty as well as stain guard and high traffic protection. xxx |

maybe thats US thing as I don't know anyone who has bought sold a house with same carpets all the way though, even brand new house have had different colours depending on the room? I agree though wood/lamintae is always popular for that kinda area |

| LOL! You could be right Lisa. People here hate having different colors in carpet from room to room. The only exception is hardwood or laminate and tile for kitchen/bathroom area. When we bought this piece o shit..the first thing I said to Shayne was were are getting rid of the multiple personalities in every room! |

| lol! I am not a fan of carpet anywhere except bedrooms - and to be fair they will be the same colour But I'd not have carpets that pale downstairs ever as they would get minging! I would consider if I had to have carpet doing one shade up and another down Have ripped it all out downstairs and have the old wooden boards which I love, but unfortunately need replacing cos arent the best in some areas, luckily where I can hide with the sofa etc hahaha |

| We did the opposite! We put cherry wood laminate in the bedrooms and put new carpet down the hallway living room and stairs. Our downstairs we refinished the old hardwood floor and restained it, and put more laminate in the family room and other bedroom downstairs. No damn way there is carpet anywhere down there because of both entries and the dogs stay downstairs. Only carpeting I have is Shayne's office(formerly Matt's bedroom) and a couple area rugs down there that I can steam clean when need be. The carpet we got is a medium beige shag style that fluff's up beautifully when vacuumed and has stain guard which in this family is a defo must! You should look into refinishing your floor boards..was easier than I thought it would be plus any flaws left behind give it that charm. xxx |

| i was asking because we r hopefully getting a council house soon and it needs decorating and we will be getting carpets (i prefer carpets) but not sure wot colours to get i am thinking of doing it all cream magnolia all through then either having feature walls or boarders with a bit of colour the only thing is our sofa is terrecotta but i dont know wether to put some throws over them (wot carpet goes with terrecotta?) rileys room is going to be done with trucks and car border (i bought it to do here but have never done it) so i supose he could have a blue carpet and i dont know about our room alot of my bedding is brown n biege colours so could maybe have a brown feature wall then a beige carpet. i dont know i think id rather have downstairs and the hall stairs and landing the same colour but not sure wot, has like u say if i want to change the colours i could do with a colour that goes with everything i dont know which though |

| Go into a carpeting store and grab their swatches they have. They will loan them to you if you have proper ID and may have to leave a deposit. That way you can go into a paint store and mix and match any ideas you may have. xxx |

| Don't get a beige or cream carpet! I have it all downstairs and it's damn near impossible to keep clean, it just looks grubby all the time even when I have it steam cleaned. I would pick something that hides marks |

| I like to see the same carpet all the way through a house tbh. Our carpet is beige and our bedrooms are cream/beige. We got them at different times which is why they dont quite match.

| Heya hun, I've just been onto Carpet right's website as I too am enquiring about carpets and they let you have 4 carpet samples for free, they'll send them to you for free too. I've chosen my 4 and they will be here within the week Maybe you could do something like that then take the samples with you to choose paint or have a look and feel of them decide if they are too dark/light. (Hope I've helped a bit) xx |

| If I were to have carpets I would definitly go for a beige colour all the way through!
In my house it's all wood or tiles downstairs and only carpets in a couple of bedrooms. The other bedrooms and bathrooms are all tiled. We're all really scruffy and spill things all the time plus we have pussy cats so it's so easy to brush and mop. |

| Putting the same colour carpet throughout gives a feeling of openness and flow from room to room making the house seem bigger.
We had beige carpet in our living room and with dogs, cats and children it was trashed so we replaced it with Karndean (vinyl that looks like hardwood but is waterproof). I wouldn't go back to carpet and will gradually replace other carpets. |

| We rent so are stuck wit what our landlord picks so we have beige in the one rom thats been recarpeted and biscuity colour in the sitting room and wudnt reccomend either for a toddler. Cant afford a pro cleaner atm so ended up with a bucket of water filled with vanish and washing up liquid and a stiff bristled bursh last week. Brought caprets up nice but dont have make your body hurt to do it. The rest of carpets are as were in house when we moved in and nicely 70s! |
