does anyone know if its possible for a baby to suddenly develop jaundice when they are 6/7 months old? like a new born gets it? asking because my sister thougth my nephew was looking a bit yellow this am so she took him to docs who agreed and they have now got him booked into hosp 2moro to get bloods done to confirm its jaundice, his eyes arent yellow and he isnt showing any specific symptoms but hasnt been himself for past week jst screaming uncontrollably which is very unlike him we had put it down to teething but now it seems it may be more hopefully if its jaundice then its jst like what a newborn gets, but im not sure thats even possible we are jst praying its nothing to do with is liver or anything worse! does any know if there are any other things that cud cause a baby to look jaundice without it being jaundice?

it might not be jaundice as such but some liver condition... I had a friend (in his 30s) who went yellow because of a liver problem so yeh it is possible. but also could be through eating too many carrots or thigns with carotene in?

I went a bit yellow before when i had gladular fever at 16/17. It inflames/enlarges the liver in some people. Its probably not glandular fever but just wanted to let you know that some times your liver can be harmed due to illness/infections and then make a full recovery in a short space of time. I think I was only yellow for a week or 2 and completly better in 6-8 wks (well apart from tiredness but glandualr fever does that), Hope he's ok x

when i was about 7 i had a form of hepatitis (i can never remember which one - the one that gets better!) and went yellow, i slept for weeks and weeks and was off school for a long time, quite poorly! but it got better, it is possible that this is what is going on? i dont think you can get newborn jaundice as such later on in life

Well finally some news got blood results back finally after waiting whole day and he isn't jaundice all bloods were normal he still looks jaundice but it's not that they checked him over can't find anythin wrong with him so looks like it's caused by what he is eating or maybe a wee viral bug hanging around him
