| hmm so we bath elijah every couple of days (try not to do it too often unless he needs it), and we just use water and no more tears shampoo - e45 makes his skin quite blotchy (and hurts my skin) so im wondering if there is anything i can do to try and moisturise his skin
his arms and legs are feeling quite dry, i guess from being wrapped up for the past month as its been so cold...do any of you use moisturisers or anything? not keen on baby lotion, i love the smell but i think it's a bit strong really for tiny skin! i loved the johnsons naturals bubble bath (the green bottle) but not sure if the moisturiser is any use? |

| I rub a little baby oil into Cerys's wet skin when she's in the bath, that seems to help. I was given diprobase by the doc when she had baby excema (sp?), its an emollient to sooth dry skin, thats good too x |

| Andrew has excema so we use double base as a moisturising cream, we also use oilatum in the bath for him too.
When he was very small before we were told he had excema we were told by the hv to use olive oil, its brilliant stuff for moisturising!
I personally wouldnt use E45 on babies as it stings me when i put it on my skin and babies skin is so much more sensitive than ours!
But yeah olive oil is brilliant !! |

| im not keen on baby oil as its a biproduct of petrolium, im a bit fussy though now that you mention it we still have grapeseed oil which we got for baby massage...i will start using that again amy we bath him most days but tbh he just doesn't need it and im not sure its that great for his skin...sometimes he is just too tired and i think that's fine (as you know we have a very vague routine haha but it's working for us just now!). if he has a major code brown or a really sicky day or throws food all over the place we give him a bath, or if he's in a good mood in the evenings...but until he is a messy toddler i don't think its essential to give him a bath everyday maybe it's just me though cos everyone else seems to! |

| i think in a couple more months he will need it more - just now i soak cotton wool in warm water and wash his hands and face, and give him a bath every other day or so |

| I was going to suggest Olive oil! can't beat it but we use something called Sebamed... pharmacist recommended it as the johnsons stuff we tried using really dried Tylers skin out but the sebamed is fab. we use chamomile bath stuff called herbaflor again dunno if you get that in uk but its' great. |
