| Izzy is 22 months and apparently should be able to: ''Taking off her own clothes: While this may lead to lots of chase-the-naked-toddler sessions, it's a key accomplishment and your child will learn to do it sometime between 13 and 20 months''
Well I am glad she hasn't learnt it! Shoes and socks is all she removes (mind you they say 'At 27 months, she'll probably be able to pull off her shoes'....but that's easy!!)

Caitlin is almost 18mths and she can take off shoes (depending on style, she still strugles with ones that are buckled on well), socks, trousers and jackets/coats/dressing gown... provided they arent buttoned. Once I went into her after a nap and she had one arm out of her t-shirt but that was a fluke. I dont believe that most kids can remove a t-shirt/jumper themselves by 20mths! Id also be shocked if they could unbutton a vest between the legs and take it off. Iv been googling milestones lately too for speech, physical things but its so confusing as most sites say dif things or are so vague so as not to worry parents. Id love a general list that HVs go by. Caitlin got a check at 4mths & I think the next one not due until her pre school check at around 4. Totally up to me to judge how she doing, though I suppose im the best person to do that! I think its appauling though that some kids can go unchecked for problems until they are 4 (eg if mums in denial, emotional abuse occuring.)

Thomas is 25 months and other than socks and shoes he doesn't really bother about taking his clothes off. He takes his bottoms off now and then but usualy brings them straight to me to put back on, although he is now trying learn to put them on himself which can be highly amusing to watch . I remember reading the exact same 'milestone' when Thomas was 22 months and thinking 'erm? nope! Thankgod!' one milestone I'm not too worried if he bypasses xx

Pmsl terri & awla - snoopy, once bean figured out a certain pair of joggers were easy to pull down he continued to do so about 4/5 times - highly delighted with himself When in the car we take shoes off as they just get pulled off / chewed (and obv the soles are a bit grubby so prevents yuk-licking) - the socks stay if it's a short journey but he soon pulls them off when he's had enough (5/10mins)

we already have to battle elijah into clothes, as you put one leg in trousers he pulls the other one out and it goes on forever while he giggles and then gets more and more annoyed maybe he still has time to grow out of it!

My LO's 2yrs old and he doesn't take his own clothes off. He did try and take his tshirt off yesterday but brought his arm out of the sleave and put it through the neck hole..and was mighty frustrated cos he was trying to do the hokey cokey at the time He does take his pants and nappy off when he wants 'poo-wee-wees!' though.

who writes these milestones? They are all bollocks because all kids are different. Some get naked young, some talk young, some walk young, some do other stuff... who cares? My view is as long as they can walk, talk articulately, dress themselves, use a toilet themselves and eat politely by the time they go to school it doesn't matter what order they do stuff in.
