does anybody elses child have one?
Dita has had one from birth and they said it should just disappear by the time she is 2, i think it was 2 anyway! Well it seems to be bigger, maybe its cos she's loosing her baby fat but its making her belly button push down, her belly button is quite strange cos of the hernia but now its pointing downwards and theres a lump above it! anyway, my question is, does it sound ok still or should i get her checked out?

Hmm, not much help as know nothing about umbillical hernias, but if i were you and in any doubt i think i would get it checked out. Probs is fine, but at least you will have reassurance.

Connie had one too, but hers disappeared by the time she was about 8 months. I think your right, they say that 2 is the age it should be gone by, but if it's going to put your mind at ease I'd mention it to your GP next time your in xxx

Daniel has one that I hadn't noticed until he was 18 months. It is a pea sized one just above his belly button. The doc just said to keep an eye on it for changes, getting bigger, causing pain etc. It is still there but the doctor had another look and said its fine as there has been no change in size.

It certainly looks like it is sticking out quite a bit. The one dan has is like a little pea, you cannot always see it. I think its pretty common though, but the doctor would prob want to see it as its gotten bigger.
