basically as some of you are aware i started a complimentary therapies course at college back in september well since we went back after xmas it has been a bit up an down due to the teacher who does the refex and aroma parts being off most lessons.

well we had an email today to say that the course was having to end with effect from today as the teacher who kept being off is having an horrendous time at the mo, her husband has been diagnosed with cancer and it is to far gone to treat he has been given 4 months to live, and so it is understandable that the teacher has to leave to look after her hubby and be their for him.

unfortunately there is nothing that can be done for us to continue the course as it was a trialcourse for a year at the college and there is only 6 of us on it so they have said it will not be restarted in september :'(

there are no courses close or similar to it so i feel like i have wasted 6 months of my life working my ass off, but that is pretty insignificant compared to what the teacher must be going through. they cant get another teacher to do it as they struggled to get the current teacher to fit it in, in the first place!

so here i am yet again living in limbo unsure of what to do with my life!!

sorry to rant and i hope that didnt come across as a selfish post i am genuinely heartbroken for my teacher she is a wonderful lady and a brill teacher and has suported me through the course in anyway i needed, i just wosh i could do something for her (she is only 50 and her hubby is 55!)

That doesn't sound selfish at all, it's an awful situation for her to be in but understandably you are diappointed x

You are right to feel pants - just cos others are suffering doesn't diminish how you feel so don't feel guilty at all for that!

Hopefully you will find something that will work and be suitable x

Sorry, what an awful situation. You don't sound selfish at all. As much as it is completely understandable why the course can no longer run, it does leave you feeling like you have wasted your time. I hope something does come up for you and all is not lost x x x

But losing the course is a shame for you - wish I could suggest alternatives but nothing springs to mind - not the kind of thing OU do I suspect, unless you offer your time for free for an hour or something at a treatment place to gain experience and figure out what specifics interest you?! xx

That is a real shame (about the course and of course the poor womans husband). Are there any colleges further afield that offer the course, i know there are ones in Birmingham but am guessing that would be a bit too far for you!!
