maybe it is common...but I think loads of doctors would just tell the mum that it is a viral rash!

hhhmmmm good point alot of things get blamed on being a virus these days and therefore "nothing they can do" , perhaps we just got a good doc who was more concise on her diagnosis x

yup sounds like it - I swear doctors just label all viral infections as that - they cant be bothered to say what viral infection it is!

I've heard of it! Milo had this last summer, high temp for a few days, off his food (most unlike him) his temp went over 40 degrees so I took him straight to a&e, and they diagnosed him with roseola. There doesn't seem to be a lot they can do for it, they gave us medicine to bring down his temp, but when the medicine wore off his temp would rocket up, and that was more stressful for his body than his temp staying high Apparently when the rash develops it means they're over the worst of it. Milo got a high temp on the Tuesday night, rash came and temp dropped on the Friday and he was back to himself by Sunday. Interestingly, the doctor told me 95% of babies get it, but no-one i spoke to had heard of it either! Glad to hear that Paige is feeling better, it's so scary with all the high temps and rashes..but you're right, they only get it once so that's a milestone out of the way!

I think the reason they just say virus is cos unless theres specific signs its not easy to tell and unfortunately with viruses nowt that can be done unlike bacterial infections that respond to antibugs. Glad shes better now though

aaah natkat sounds like milo got it bad poor thing so glad someone else has heard of it though Thanks mario, i know your a professional and agree with you and lisa, there must be sooooo many viruses these days bobbing about for babies to catch it must be heard to pinpoint them all. and like you say not alot can be done anyway but treat symptoms of the fever Anyway she is fighting fit again now and making up for being ill by pigging out and getting upto mischief again lol x
