| 12th Dec my nan died of a stroke. She was my diabetic grandads carer so on the day she went into hospital he was admitted to as no one know what medication etc he needed. 2 months later he is still in hosp, they still cant get his sugar levels right but we know its due to lack of care from the hosp. Examples, When visiting they bought his tea in, Fish Chips and Treacle pudding!! Ermmm, hes diabetic! asked them if it was right and they said 'No, sorry that shouldn't of happened!' They changed it to something more suitable. Last night my mum was over and visiting and it was getting later and later and he still hadn't had his tea. She asked them a few times where it was and they kept saying its on its way. Turned out they'd forgotten to do him any! They blamed the girl as she was new and training!! WTF its not a bloody shop job she has peoples lives in her hands!! He has lost a stone in weight since hes been in. My mum visits everyday but has to work, what the hell is happening when were not there??? What can we do about this? My mum is complaining but who would we need to go to to get them to listen? Social services are involved as we need to get him in a care home but the hosp wont let him go until his sugar levels are right?!?! I'm obviously in another country and i'm scared i'll never see him alive again the way things are going. My nan will be turning in her grave as she cared for him so well for so long. I know hospitals are busy and they are short staffed but this is serious, he could die if he doesnt get stablized soon. Thanks for listening. xx |

| i would write to the Cheif Executive of Operations (CEO) but then im not really mediacally minded that is some bad care and no matter how busy they are they should not be forgetting him at all Is there another hospital that your mum could talk to, to see if he can be moved to a better cared for hospital im sure once she explained what was going on then they would try to help her |

| Leanne, from memory your grays based originally! Where's grandad - what hospital? The care he is receiving is disgraceful, surely his docs must know what levels of meds he should take to stabilise him . Go as high as you can, in respect if complaining. Xx |

| I really hope he's not in Basildon Hospital. They are disgraceful there.
I'd look at getting him transferred and make sure your mum puts her foot down. Chelmsford hospital is brilliant try to avoid southend if possible too.
what is happening is wrong. |

| Avoid Queens in Romford too Isn't it sad that's all my local hospitals covered . And the local health authority questioned my home birth |

| The hospital will have a formal complaints procedure, you might be able to get it from their website. If not ask for a copy and write in with your complaint. They usually have to respond within set timescales etc. If you are still concerned then you can go to an independant ombudsman (i think!) I bet if you google hospital complaints you will find all the info xx |
