Awww poor Ava, and you.

The only thing you can do is keep her off milk and get lots of fluid in her.

If you are not happy with what the doctor said, take her to a and e. They will check her over x

Just saw this Jo! Hope you got through thee day ok? Is OH helping out?

Its terrible watching them suffer and there's nothing you can do isnt it! Agree with other ladies - keep her fluids up and if you worried go to A&E. Iv been sitting wih Caitlin on my lap for an hr solid watching bob builder song on repeat Rolling Eyes . She's getting hotter and hotter to the touch so even though she saw dr yday if she gets much worse im ringing out of hrs tonight. Dont be afraid of annoying them! x

oh no! that sounds absolutely awful, i hope hubby is home soon to help out and give you a break, like the other ladies said run her up to a+e if she still isn't seeming much better, at least they will help you decide if she needs extra fluid Smile
hope you feel better soon too it must be dreadful to be feeling so poorly while ava is ill x

hubby came home this morning and we managed to get an emergency appointment for her, funny thing is after her afternoon nap she seemed much brighter. docs told us to give her diluted milk and light carbs and have to take a stool sample tomorrow. i honestly have not seen so much poop in my entire life as i have this week!

Oh you poor girlies. Isla started with a sick bug last Friday and yesterday was the first day she hadn't been sick. It's so horrible to watch them, i took her to the hospital on Sunday and the docs on Tuesday to get her checked over, but they said she was fine and not dehydrated. Although she couldn't keep a thing down, she was drinking frequently. It is so nice to see her almost back to herself today.

I'm sure before you know it Ava will be 100%, children usually recover so quickly. I hope you feel better soon too, it's draining when your both ill x x x

Aw sorry shes feeling so rough hon. Im afraid the bad news with gastroenteritis is that sickness can last 4-7 days and diarrhoea up to 14 perfectly normally while the body fights off the bug.

Id advise kep the calpol and brufen up while her tummy recovers but try if you can to give the brufen with a bit of milk if shes having it or a bit of food to stop her getting an irritated tummy form it.

Fluids just let her have freely but keep sipping em rather n chugging em and food little and often too to prevent her tummy being overtaxed, dioralyte is great if shes not eating or drinking much to prevent dehydration and replace lost mineral salts from the body.

With temp as long as its responding to calpol remember its the bodies way of fighting an infection, ive kept c at home with a temo of 40.5 before now cos it would lower with calpol, stripping down and a fan on. Its only when it rockets quickly and doesnt reduce with medication its worrying. If it bimbles up gradually thats just the bodies immune response working.

Hope thats of some help to you i cant even decide if it makes sense as a iread it back lol
