For the past two weeks I have been able to smell cigarette smoke CONSTANTLY

I have never smoked and OH doesnt smoke, obviously the kids dont and I don't really see many other people day to day. OH can't smell it and it is deffinately 'in my head' But it's a very real smell to the point where it actually makes my eyes sting at times. I don't know if it's a coincidence but I've also been struggling to sleep lately .

It really is starting to do my head in and I don't quite know what to do about it - I have an appointment at the docs next week for something else but I'm worried if I mention it he will think I'm nuts .

Has anyone ever had this or heard of it or am I actually going mad?

I've heard of this before hun, I don't really know the cause or anything useful to tell you sorry! But just wanted to let you know that you're not going mad and it's a recognised medical condition so if you mention it to the doctors they won't think you're mad xxx

my gran had something similar after a bang to the head once, have you banged your head recentley?? xx

it's really common! fear not! it can be because of a bump to the head but also can be stress related or just one of those random things! it might stick around for a while or you might wake up and its gone (it's also common in pregnancy and can be a sign of a stroke but i think you would know about that by now!)
