Hey everyone, haven't been on for a few days properly as I went to keep my sister company while her husband had a major back op! Anyway I'm not sure how you all feel about your jobs but I always feel guilty! Megan isn't too well at the mo, the usual cough cold etc but she looks peeky and her eyes are all heavy, a sure sign shes not well. I'm supposed to go to work tomorrow and have a really important meeting which will last for approx an hour and a half. My dilemma is do I take her to nursery like this? I dont want to and her health is obvs more important than my job but I always feel guilty if I have to miss important things in work!! Nothing is more important than my children of course but why cant i just switch off and say tough I'm not coming in thats their prob???!!!

I'm the same! Can you not leave her with someone for the duration of the meeting and the go home sick?

i have same problem, especially at the moment, they telling me that i shouldnt go back and go on early maternity, but i want more time with bubs than without bubs.

i always feel guilty if rich is ill and i have to have time off for him, even if its to take him to hosp appointments.

but then i see others who dont have kids who have time off because they want too and they dont care.

work is work and will be there when you go back, i'm off sick at moment and for the first time i dont feel guilty, enjoy time with your little one

totally agree with Clare. dont feel guilty about staying home, that place will still be there tomorrow. I do feel guilty like you, but i remind myself, Cerys is more important than anything x

I always feel like I'm letting work down when I can't work certain shifts due to no childcare etc, but if Harry was ill, I would not go in full stop, wouldn't really care if they could get cover - I'm not getting paid for not going in so it's not something I should feel guilty for and neither should you!! xx

Hiya, thanks for your replies. I only live a few minutes drive from work so I popped in tonight just to leave some things ready just in case I'm not in. I doubt I will even bother trying as I dont want to take her to nursery when shes not 100%. Maybe some people would say you are mad to even do that, but I know it would bother me tomorrow if I had just left it for someone else to pick up things I would have been doing first thing in the morning. I will make sure I claim that time back though! Thanks again xxx
