I was just in the bath and shaving my legs (Yes, it does happen ) and I caught the razor on my thumb nail.

It has sliced it off about 1cm down (pretty much the whole nail).

It wont stop bleeding.

I have wrapped it up in about 50 sheets of tissue and put clear tape around it, but its just pouring with blood and the tissue is drenched. What do I do?!

fgs dont text your OH, he'l have an ambulance at your door in minutes

keep applying pressure, don't remove any towelling or tissue you've applied even if it's soaked as it will encourage more bleeding when you remove it, just add to it, I find ice or cold compress applied directly helps, then maybe call NHS direct? Hope you're ok xx

yeah try just adding bandage to it, and perhaps call nhs direct, or is there a walk in clinic near you.

Cheers ladies... its still bleeding badly, but I have kept the tissue wrapped around it.
