I hate sterilising bottles and tbh don't know why I've done it this long (always planned to stop at 6 months) but we've just got back from a week at my mum's and I haven't sterilised all week and I don't intend to start again now I'm home. So woooooooop!!!! cheers My steriliser.... 66465 My steriliser.... 261548 My steriliser.... 793309 My steriliser.... 908468 no more sterilising for me EVER!!! and I can reclaim my kitchen worktop Very Happy

That is all! Laughing

I stopped at 6 months too

We are apparently bad mothers, according to the old bag that works for Milton at the Baby Show - had a right go at me for putting Izzy at risk by not doing it til she was 1...what a cheeky cow! Izzy has had less illness than most toddlers so I can't see it makes much difference!

Lol snoops, reclaim your space hun!! Although if you are planning more bambinos then you will only have to get it all out again so don't pack it away too safely Wink I however will never be pregnant again and will take great pleasure in dumping the thing in the bin tomorrow Very Happy my sterilising days are done!! Razz

Lisa I think Milton lady sounds a bit bias to me lol. Hannah is a human hoover and spends most of her time crawling round picking bits off the carpet and eating them and licking/chewing/sucking anything she can get her face close enough to, I actually found her chewing on thomas' shoe today which is minging but the fact that he still had it on his foot cracked me up. Unless I can put my children in hermetically sealed bubbles they are gonna come into contact with germs. I think this is a good thing as it helps build a decent immune system and actually prevent them getting ill rather than put them at risk. I don't think a bottle teat that has been washed in hot soapy water is going to put a baby that licks shoes at risk.

you're not a bad mummy pixel - sensible maybe?

I think if i'd bf'ed till 6 months I wouldn't have even bothered getting one for after 6 months but when you bottle feed from earlier it becomes part of your routine and all of a sudden you blink and they are 8 months old and licking shoes and you think why the &*^% doo I bother? Laughing

Yey, have you found anything for the space deby?

you know what, i do E's bottles, but never the bowls cutlery she uses Shocked

and TBH her dummies only get done once a flood, cos she only has 2 so keeping them sterlised would be a nightmare

shoot me now!!!

Lol Jo - no I haven't found anything for the space yet. I'm enjoying having just one minimalistic space in my house for a day - no doubt by the end of tomorrow something child orientated will have found its way and made a home for itself on my lovely decluttered work space Rolling Eyes Laughing

It's amazing how much more relaxed you are second time round though - I have never sterilised any of Hannah's weaning stuff and she doesn't have a dummy so I don't have that to think about.

I'm so happy that my sterilising days are done but still kinda sad in a weird way scratch, my baby is now and crawling, cruising almost toddler - where did that time go? Sad

I've got rid of mine aswell as L drinks out of non sterilised cups with tap water and he puts everything in his mouth. He doesn't have a dummy either. X
