any children's safety tv ads on anymore ?? Just a random thought that popped into my head earlier. Most of you will remember Charlie and his Cat . . . . .

I remember as a child that these ads had a great effect on me and they really did make me think about dangerous things. Also there was the Green Cross Code ads. In todays society where children have more freedom than ever and I hate to say it but there are more useless parents as well, why dont they show these types of adverts anymore?? Gill's post about tv made me think as well because alot of children watch more tv than we or their grandparents ever did. It is ultimately the parents responsibility to teach safety but I really think more ads like these will really drum it into kids x

I saw a don't play with matches ad the other day, it was the original one I remember as a child but it is true there don't seem to be any safety ads on nowadays. Do you remember the Superted one (don't cross behind parked cars) xxx

...didn't that banana man dude star in an ad? (the guy who turned into a super hero after eating bananas???) All these ads stick in my head because they used tv characters that were familiar to us, they really need to start doing them again xx

I think it was easier back in the day when there was 4 channels but there's bloody hunners now!!

I've just been watching loads of the old ones on YouTube lol, the one with the water freaks me out, and the electricity one

oh yeh the electricity one really scared me too. It obviously worked on us then x
