When u make mash, after uve peeled the potatoes do u chop them up or boil them whole?
I chop and thought that was the norm but my annoying 'know it all' friend thinks its faster to boil then whole ???

I peel then chop them then boil them until soft

Never boile them whole though?? Surely that would take longer??

i chop them into small pieces so they boil quicker

chop em, stands to reason the less the surface area the quicker they cook. there chuck some science at the bint

I normally chop potatoes before I boil them what a daft thing to say if they bigger they cook quicker lol xx

I used to chop them really thin so they boiled faster but it ruined the mash. now i chop a potatoes in 4, 6 if its a large one then boil for 15-20 mins. the potatoes are just soft and taste so much better
