| benjamin has not eaten a single bit of food for the past 4-5 days. he normally scoffs grub and has tons of yogurts, but he even struggles to eat a tiny pot of yogurt...he has 2 teeth that have popped through...is it normal for them to completely stop eating? he's still drinking his bottles...but not as many as usual. 3/4 a day and no food...any ideas? tips? xx |

| eli went right off his food and would only eat very cold very thin things for a good week when he was last teething (he's a bit off his food again this week) so things like stage one pudding jars - peach dessert and apple rice etc and put them in the fridge....
he might also be constipated? is he pooing ok? that also puts elijah off his food if he hasn't had a poo for a day or two - ellas kitchen prune and raisin brekkie is great for that or a bit of fresh orange in his water?? |

| oh, also a sore throat? have you tried really cold things? if you have tried all these things to no avail i would give your hv a ring (or if yours is awful like ours your gp!) just to get him checked out he might be a bit poorly - or growing! that can make them too tired to want to do much |

| i would just keep offering smooth cold things for a couple of days - probably not at mealtimes but just every couple of hours or something, if you don't have any teethers http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/department/closer_to_nature/teethers/ all 3 of those have been great hits. you can put them in the fridge too which is good for sore mouths - remember calpol and dentinox too |

| avas teething too atm so she's very mardy, i feel your pain!
i would just keep and eye on him, if he's having his milk he'll be ok for a few days but if it continues i'd have a word with the hv at the baby clinic. |

| maybe it's worth just bypassing the hv (i personally find them bloody useless but there must be some good ones out there!) and see if you can get a gp appt tomorrow, that way they can try and have a look at his throat/ears and listen to his chest just to make sure there aren't any bugs hanging around him |

| yeah i wud go straight to your gp. alfies like benji and loves his food so if hes not eating i know summats not up. when he last had a stomach big he would turn his nose away at food. i wud just try him with little bits. have u tried him with a digestive biscuit - things he can eat himself? alfie loves those so when he wasnt well he would still happily chomp on them -theyre hard too so might help his teeth? x |

| Am sure he is just fine, but would if me take him in to gp to make sure. Could your sis go with you to the docs before school? Or could you arrange it for when she has finished school?
Mandy xx |

| Just to say Stephen was like this last week, refused all his usual favourites and all I eventually got him to eat was a bit of mango and banana. He had his milk no problem and it was about a week of no food but it was just his teeth and now he's fine again. If you're worried definitely see the gp when you can though to put your mind at rest xxx |
