| Ok so I am torn on this. Abbie loves her dummy and would have it in all day if I let her. I do try to limit it to nap times etc, but she really does love it and when she is upset she does like it as a comfort. It hasn't affected her speech (she has such a vast vocabulary already) and I tell her to take it out when she is talking which she does. But one thing is annoying me is she is waking up during the night and sometimes it's 3-4 times a night crying for it when she has lost it. I can't just leave her and she then starts to scream like she is being murdered and poor Lottie then gets woken up (they share a room). I never had this problem with Lottie as she quite happy gave hers up at 8 months old all by herself!!! So my question is should I let her keep it while she is happy and contect OR take it off her and stop her relying on it so much?? xx |

| Chloe only has hers at night and she was doing the same where she couldn't find one, so we have a little trinket box on the end of the bed full of dummies, so if she can't find one, she knows where to get another, or you could put a couple in bed with her. I'm not ready to take Chloe's off her yet, she only has it in bed now, so am not too worried for the time being as she loves it |

| The only thing i would suggest is sticking 5 or 6 in the cot with her and some of those glow in the dark ones.
We got rid of Andrew's around 17 or 18 months i think, Andrew wanted it in all day and i waw worried his teeth would go a funny shape... Sophie's went a good while ago... Sophie only had hers for sleeping but Andrew was so attatched to his i was realy worried about taking it away but honestly i needn't have worried! I just left it in their bed one day and got rid before naptime and that was it, gone... no crying, no asking for it nothing!

| Wil loves his dummy but he is only allowed it upstairs.
Other people may joke but Wil actually goes to bed with at least 6 every night and I go in just before I go to bed and make sure there are at least 3 on his pillow where he can reach them. I have actually watched him reach out in his sleep, get one and put it in his mouth so they don't need to be able to see them.
I have a little garden gnome on my landing window sill right at the top of the stairs and Wil calls him 'gnome dummy' because he gives his dummy to the gnome before coming downstairs and the gnome guards it all day for him so Wil can collect it at bedtime.
(the gnome is a very special symbol for me so it is beautiful that Wil has formed an attachment to it) |

| i am currently trying to wean Alice off the dummy during the day, she has been terrible since Edith arrived wanting it all the time, so we are bargaining with bed times only, i would defo agree either give her 2 or 3 to take to bed, or have somewhere she knows she can just grab 1. we are very lucky that when A falls asleep without her dummy, she doesnt wake to find it again, and to an extent niether does E we only have once or twice nightly occasions with E, the others are general awakeness and feeds |
